Mechanical washing machines date back as far as the 19th century, their basic principles of operation have largely remained unchanged.

It wasnt until the 1960's that automatic washing machines became popular.

Washing / Drying machine

These are usually refered to as a combos or combination washer/dryer, this is a single appliance which performs the washing process and the drying process.
