Extractor hoodAn extractor hood, also known as a kitchen hood. is a device containing a fan that is fitted above the hob in the kitchen. It is used to filter the steam that is produces from cooking. The remainder is preferably vented out of the house via an exhaust pipe. An exhaust hood is used to vent excess moisture from the kitchen, as well as objectionable food odors, smoke from burned foods, and combustion products from gas stoves.
