Dishwasher

The term dishwasher can represent either a person who washes dishes or for a machine that performs the process of washing dishes.

A dishwasher is a machine for cleaning pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. Many Homes in the UK now have dishwashers, and when a new kitchen is fitted, often they a part of the built in units.

Brief History on the Dishwasher

The first reports of a dishwashing machine are of a patent by Joel Houghton in 1850 which was a hand powered dishwasher.

In the 1920s dishwashers were introduced that had permanent pluming and in the 1940's electic drying elements were added to the dishwashers.
